The fairgrounds belong to Trinity County. They are where families show livestock, where the community gathers, and where a lot of local history has happened since 1921.
California cut state funding for fairs in 2010, and local support has carried a good deal of the load since. If you would like to help keep the grounds in good order and the programs running, a donation of any size goes a long way here.
Where your gift can go
You can tell us what you care about most. Here is what donations typically support.
-
Wherever it is needed most
General support. This is the most useful kind of gift, because it can go straight to whatever is most pressing.
-
Youth and agricultural programs
Junior Livestock, showmanship, awards, and the youth exhibits that bring 4-H, FFA and Grange families to the grounds.
-
Buildings and grounds
Barns, arenas, exhibit halls, and the water and power that keep them usable. Unglamorous, constant, and essential.
-
Events
The Fair, the Harvest Festival, and the community events held here through the year.
A note on how this works. These are preferences, not separate restricted funds. Telling us what you care about helps the board direct your gift, but it will be used where the Association judges it is needed most unless we agree something specific with you in advance. If you would like your gift used for one particular thing, call the office and we will talk it through before you give.
[REPLACE: CURRENT_PROJECT - if the board has approved a specific project worth naming, describe it here with what it is, roughly what it costs, and how far along it is. A specific, real project raises far more than a general appeal. Only publish one the board has approved for public fundraising.]

Giving online
[REPLACE: ONLINE_GIVING_STATUS - online giving is not yet available. When a secure hosted checkout is approved, replace this paragraph with the donation form embed below and remove this note. Never collect card details in this page's code.]
Anything you send us is used to process and acknowledge your gift. See our privacy policy.
Receipts and tax questions
We will acknowledge your gift and provide a record of it.
For questions about how a donation to the Association is treated for tax purposes, please contact the Fair Office directly at (530) 628-5223 or [email protected]. We would rather give you an accurate answer than a general one, and your own tax adviser is the right person to rely on for your particular situation.
[REPLACE: TAX_AND_RECEIPT_WORDING - add the Association's approved wording on tax status, deductibility, and receipts once it is confirmed in writing. Until then this section stands as it is. Do not improvise it.]
In memory or in honour of someone
Many gifts here are made in someone's name. If you would like your donation recognised that way, tell us who and we will handle it properly.
Call (530) 628-5223 or write to P.O. Box 880, Hayfork, CA 96041.
Being thanked, or not
We will not publish your name without asking. If you would rather give quietly, say so and that is the end of it.
Money is not the only thing that helps
If a donation is not the right fit right now, there is plenty else that is genuinely useful. Volunteering, joining the Association, sponsoring an award, or simply turning up to an event all count.
