Sponsorship and advertising

Almost every attraction, contest, and award at the Trinity County Fair is sponsored by a local business, family, or organisation. That is how a fair this size manages to hand out belt buckles, cash awards, and a full week of entertainment.

Sponsorships start small and go up from there. Individuals sponsor awards here as often as businesses do, frequently in memory of someone.

What you can sponsor

These are the things people sponsor most often. If something else appeals, ask.

  • An attraction or contest

The logging show, destruction derby, parade, talent show, pedal tractor races, pinewood derby, watermelon eating contest, ugly dog contest, the Little Miss and Mister contests, and more. Each one carries its sponsor's name.

  • An exhibitor award

Sponsor awards in a specific category, or a Best of Division award. Popular with people who care about one particular department, whether that is quilting, photography, baking, or floriculture.

  • A Junior Livestock award

Champion and reserve champion belt buckles, showmanship awards, round robin buckles, and carcass contest payouts. This is where local businesses back young people directly.

  • A banner at the grounds

Grand champion and reserve champion banners carry sponsor names through the livestock show and the auction.

  • A project on the grounds

Anything from a small flower bed to a building renovation. There is always a list of things that need doing, and the board can tell you what is on it.

  • An advertisement in the Handbook

The Exhibitor's Handbook is printed each spring and goes to exhibitors and families across Trinity County. It gets kept, referred to, and read all season.

Prices are not published here yet. Rather than quote a figure we have not confirmed, call the Fair Office at (530) 628-5223 or send the form below and we will tell you exactly what is available and what it costs. There is no obligation in asking.

Rates and deadlines

Our sponsorship and advertising rates are being updated

We are putting current rates and artwork specifications online. In the meantime, tell us what you are interested in and we will send you the details for this year.

One timing note worth knowing. The Exhibitor's Handbook is printed in the spring, and sponsors confirmed before it goes to print appear in it by name. Sponsorships are accepted after printing too, so a late offer is never wasted, but if being listed in the Handbook matters to you, get in touch early in the year.

[REPLACE: HANDBOOK_PRINT_DEADLINE - the actual cutoff date for appearing in the printed Handbook, once confirmed.]

Sponsorship rate card

[REPLACE: RATE_CARD_STATUS - remove this card entirely until a rate card document exists. Do not link to a file that is not there.]

Handbook advertising specifications

[REPLACE: AD_SPEC_STATUS - ad sizes, artwork formats, colour or black and white, and how to submit artwork. Remove this card until the document exists.]

How sponsors are recognised

Sponsors have their name, or their business name, listed in the Exhibitor's Handbook. Award sponsors are named alongside the award itself, so the exhibitor who wins it knows who backed it.

Attraction sponsors are named with the attraction. Banner sponsors appear on the banners at the livestock show and auction.

[REPLACE: ADDITIONAL_RECOGNITION - announcements from the stage, signage at the grounds, recognition on the website or social media, and anything else the Association offers. Only list what it actually does.]

If you would rather not be named publicly, or want a gift made in someone else's name, just say so.

In memory of someone

A number of awards at this fair are given in memory of people from the community, and have been for years. If you would like to set one up, or continue one, call the office and we will help you arrange it.

Sponsoring is not the same as membership

A business membership is $100 and comes with four cards and voting privileges. Sponsorship supports a specific event, award, or project. Plenty of businesses do both. Membership details

Ask about sponsoring

Tell us roughly what interests you. You do not need to have decided anything, and you will not be committed to anything by asking.

[REPLACE: SPONSOR_FORM_EMBED]

We use what you send to answer your enquiry about sponsorship. See our privacy policy. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you tick the box asking for updates.

Rather just talk?

Most sponsorships here start with a phone call or a conversation at the fairgrounds.

Sponsorship is handled by the Events Committee, which reports to the board. Committees and meetings

Payment and invoicing

[REPLACE: SPONSOR_PAYMENT_TERMS - describe how sponsorships are invoiced and paid, including any request for payment policy. Do not guess at terms.]

Other ways a business can help

Sponsorship is not the only option. Businesses take out memberships, rent vendor space, donate to the Junior Livestock auction as buyers, and lend equipment and labour when something needs doing.
