Support the Trinity County Fair

Thank you for helping your Trinity County Fair. California cut state funding for fairs in 2010, and fairs across the state have needed local help to maintain and expand their programs ever since.

There is more than one way to pitch in, and not all of them cost money. Here is what is useful.

Ways to help

  • Become a member

Individual memberships are $25 a year per card. Business memberships are $100 and include four cards. Members get a discount on Fair admission and a vote in the direction of the Fair.

    Join the Association
  • Make a donation

Support general operations, youth and agricultural programs, and the upkeep of the grounds. Any amount helps, and you can give by post if you would rather not do it online.

    Donate
  • Sponsor an award

Sponsor exhibitor awards in a category you care about, or a Best of Division award. Sponsors are listed by name or business name in the Exhibitor's Handbook.

    Sponsorship options
  • Sponsor a project

Anything from a small flower bed to a building renovation. There is always something on the grounds that needs doing, and the board can tell you what is on the list.

Talk to us about a project
  • Advertise in the Handbook

The Exhibitor's Handbook goes out to exhibitors and families across Trinity County every year. Advertising in it supports the Fair and reaches a local audience.

    Advertising details
  • Volunteer

Volunteers make community events at the fairgrounds possible, and they are needed for every event. Front gate, exhibits, set up, clean up, and everything in between.

    Volunteer with us
  • Become a vendor

Rent vendor space to display and sell at the Fair. Vendors are part of what makes the week work, and the fees support the Association.

    Vendor information
  • Enter an exhibit

Quilts, baked goods, photography, art, flowers, woodwork, livestock, and more. Entering is participating, and a Fair with full exhibit halls is a Fair worth visiting.

    How to enter
  • Turn up

Attend the Fair and the fundraisers through the year. Bringing your family through the gate is genuinely one of the most useful things you can do.

Where a lot of it goes

Youth and agriculture

A large share of what the Association does is for young people. Junior Livestock exhibitors from 4-H, FFA, Grange and independent projects raise and show animals, compete in showmanship, and sell at the annual auction. Local businesses and families sponsor nearly every award and buckle in that program.

Free things that help

  • Follow along and share. Word of mouth is how most people around here hear about an event. Facebook and Instagram.
  • Come to a board meeting. Meetings are open to everyone and anyone who signs in may speak. Meeting dates and agendas
  • Serve on a committee. Committees run on community volunteers, not just directors. Tell us what you are good at
  • Write to your state representatives. The Association asks supporters to contact their state representatives about restoring funding for local fairs.

Not sure what to offer?

Call the Fair Office and say what you have got, whether that is an afternoon, a skill, a truck, or a cheque. Someone will know exactly where it is needed.
