Terms and website use
The rules for using this website, written plainly. There is nothing buried in here.

The short version
This website is run by the Trinity County Fair Association. We try to keep it accurate, but a printed document or a signed agreement always beats the website. Sending us a form is not the same as having a booking. If something here matters to your plans, call and check.
Whose website this is
The Trinity County Fair Association, a nonprofit at 6000 Hwy 3, Hayfork, California, which runs the Trinity County Fairgrounds and Event Center and puts on the Trinity County Fair.
[REPLACE: LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME - use the same legal entity name as on the privacy policy and in contracts.]
Accuracy, and what wins when things disagree
We put real effort into keeping this site correct, and we mark clearly where information is still being confirmed. Even so, dates move, prices change, and a volunteer run organisation does not always update a website the same afternoon.
If this website and any of the following disagree, the other document wins:
- A signed rental agreement, vendor contract, or camping registration
- The printed Exhibitor's Handbook
- Anything the Fair Board has adopted in a public meeting and recorded in the minutes
- Any form you have signed
If a date or price on this site matters to a decision you are making, call the Fair Office at (530) 628-5223 and confirm it. We would much rather answer the phone than have you turn up on the wrong day.
Sending us a form is not a booking
Several forms on this site let you ask about something: a campsite, a venue, a vendor space, a sponsorship. Sending one starts a conversation. It does not reserve anything, hold a date, or create an agreement.
A booking exists once the Fair Office confirms it and, where payment or a signed agreement is required, once those are done. The relevant pages say this too.
Venue availability and camping requests both work this way.
What you send us
Please only send information that is accurate and that is yours to send. If you fill in a form on behalf of someone else, make sure they are happy for you to give us their details.
What we do with information you send is set out in our privacy policy.
Other people's websites and services
This site links to services the Association does not control, including the online entry system used for Fair entries and any maps or social media we link to. Those have their own terms and their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they work or what they do with your information.
The same goes for the carnival at the Fair, which is run by an outside amusement company, and for events that other organisations put on at the fairgrounds. Those organisers set their own terms, admission, and rules.
Content on this site
The text, photographs, and design on this website belong to the Trinity County Fair Association or are used with permission.
You are welcome to print pages for your own use, share links to them, and quote from them when writing about the Fair. Please do not republish substantial parts of the site as your own, or use the Association's name or logo in a way that suggests we are involved in something we are not.
If you would like to use something from here for a school project, a local newsletter, or anything else, just ask. The answer is usually yes.
Photography at the fairgrounds
Events at the fairgrounds are photographed, and images are used in the Exhibitor's Handbook, on this website, and in publicity for the Fair.
We do not publish photographs identifying young people without written permission from a parent or guardian.
If a photograph of you or your family appears here and you would rather it did not, tell us and we will take it down. You do not need to explain why.
[REPLACE: PHOTOGRAPHY_POLICY - confirm the Association's actual policy on photography at events, including any notice given at the gate, and replace this section with it.]
Using the site sensibly
Please do not try to break the site, submit forms automatically, or use it to send anyone anything unwanted. That is the whole rule.
Disclaimers and liability
[REPLACE: LIABILITY_AND_DISCLAIMERS - this section needs to be written or approved by someone qualified, in the context of what the Association actually does. Do not paste standard clauses from another website here. Note that the campsite registration form already contains a release naming the State of California, the California Fair Services Authority, the Association, and the County, and whoever drafts this should see that wording first.]
Governing law
[REPLACE: GOVERNING_LAW - to be confirmed as part of the legal review.]
If these terms change
We will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
